Alison Cooke

After studying Trumpet in the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music, Alison graduated in music from the University of Birmingham.

She developed her interest in early music there, undertaking postgraduate studies in 12th Century music and assisting in running the Birmingham Early Music Festival.

Alison is Chanterye's principal trumpeter, and also plays the shawm, tabor pipe, recorders, fidel and various hand drums as well as participating in vocal ensembles.

As one of Chanterye's researchers, Alison has a wide interest in all aspects of medieval life, artistic practices and other activities.
